Rejuvenate Your Neck: Discover Neck Lift Surgery

Rejuvenate Your Neck

When it comes to skin care routines, the neck is often neglected, particularly where sun protection is concerned. As such, the skin around the neck sometimes ages faster than your facial skin.

If you’re bothered by your turkey neck, a neck lift procedure might just be the answer you’re looking for.

What Is A Neck Lift?

A neck lift, also known as neck rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that addresses mild to moderate skin laxity on the neck as well as fats under the chin, neck banding, and loose skin and fat on the lower face.

The procedure uses the same techniques from a traditional facelift where skin on the target area(s) is lifted, muscles and tissues are repositioned, after which, the skin is redraped. Usually, two incisions are required, one along the ear and another under the chin if a double chin is also a concern of the patient.

Neck Lift Surgery Recovery

This is a less invasive procedure compared to a traditional facelift, which means you will have a shorter recovery period. Usually, patients return to work about two weeks after surgery. However, patients with a strenuous or physically demanding job are advised to take more time recovering as strenuous activities may delay or get in the way of your healing process.

Additionally, patients are advised to take up gentle walking about two days after their surgery to help with blood circulation. Increased blood flow aids in the body’s healing process.

Neck Lift Surgery Results

It may take six months post-treatment to achieve optimal results as some patients take this much time healing. Swelling is a common side effect of a neck lift procedure, but this should subside in a couple of weeks, depending on your body’s natural healing process.

What this means is that the appearance of noticeable results, the dissipation of scars from the incisions, and how long it takes for swelling to subside are different from one patient to the next. Each of us have unique healing processes, so don’t be frustrated if your results don’t appear as quickly as your friend’s.
