Face

Thanks to advances in medical technique and technology, many facial cosmetic surgery procedures today are capable of returning youth to aging skin as well as improving and/or correcting undesirable facial features. Here at Capital Facial Plastic Surgery, we offer facelifts, mini-facelifts, fat transfers, lip augmentations, and chin augmentations.

Facelift

A facelift, also known as a rhytidectomy, is a surgical facial rejuvenation procedure. It addresses common signs of aging in the face including jowls, lines, creases, wrinkles, sagging skin, and shifting facial tissues.

Designed to treat facial skin aging symptoms, facelifts are ideal for older patients. They are popular with both women and men and are among the most frequently performed facial cosmetic surgery procedures at Capital Facial Plastic Surgery.

The procedure involves making several easily concealed incisions along the hairline, around or behind the ears, and, if needed, under the chin. The skin is then separated from the underlying tissue, after which the tissues are repositioned and tightened, the skin is redraped, and excess skin is removed. Finally, the incisions are sutured closed to allow for recovery to begin. The results are long-lasting.

Mini-Facelift

For our younger patients wishing to tighten up sagging skin and restore a more youthful facial appearance, we offer a mini-face lift, also known as a minimal incision facelift or short scar facelift.

This facial surgery procedure is ideal for anyone with mild to moderate facial skin aging and is thus typically performed on patients in their 40s and 50s. It can also be used many years after a traditional facelift to correct any rejuvenating effects that have worn off.

This face surgery procedure is less invasive than a traditional lift and targets aging in the cheeks and sometimes the jawline. Like in the traditional facelift, your doctor will make incisions in the facial skin, tighten underlying tissue, and remove excess skin. However, the mini-facelift requires fewer and shorter incisions, and as such has a shorter recovery time.

Lip Augmentation

Full, luscious lips are a highly desirable facial feature. You don’t have to be born with the perfect lips to achieve them. Lip augmentation can add volume to the lip area, increasing their size and enhancing their shape. Done properly, the results are very natural-looking and never overfilled.

The enhancement of the lips is usually achieved via a nonsurgical, minimally invasive procedure wherein the surgeon injects dermal filler into the lips. However, a more invasive type of lip augmentation exists, and it involves a small incision under the nose to lift the lips to a more rejuvenated position. The kind of treatment performed will depend on the patient’s goals.

Fat Transfer

For our patients that desire a longer-lasting injectable, we offer facial fat transfer. This procedure takes your own fat from an area with excess fat and transplants it into the face. It can restore lost volume, smooth out lines and wrinkles, and revitalize your facial appearance.

A minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery procedure, fat transfer has two distinct phases: fat harvest and fat transfer. Fat harvest is a simple liposuction technique that removes fat from areas such as the abdomen or flanks. This fat is then processed, placed into syringes, and injected into specific problem areas.

Fat transfer may be paired with other treatments for optimum results.

Chin Augmentation

The chin frames the lower portion of the face and defines the jawline. Chin augmentation is a facial surgery procedure designed to add structure to a weak or recessed chin, improve facial harmony, and enhance the appearance of the entire face.

In the chin augmentation procedure, your surgeon makes an easily concealed incision under the chin. An implant is then inserted through the incision and carefully positioned on the bone. Finally, the incisions are stitched closed to allow recovery to begin.

Chin augmentation is often paired with other cosmetic treatments.
